D.A. (Design & Art) is a multiskilled colourful cube with an artistic intervention. This cube, adaptable to the purpose needed, serves as both a multifunctional design piece and a canvas for art.
The cube is constructed from a variety of colored MDF, a material often overlooked as cheap and non-prime. It embraces this material and brings colour to it.
Colour plays a significant role in our daily lives, influencing our emotions and creativity. By surrounding ourselves with vibrant colours, we can feel happier and more inspired to create.
The piece could have just one colour, however, by having multiple colours emphasises the quality of the material.
While I could have chosen to use just one colour for this project, I opted for a colourful and lively design to showcase the material's properties.
This piece explores the relationship between purpose and culture, function and style. The added value comes from combining the design piece and the artistic painting, as they complement each other and create a harmonious dialogue.
